On the fourth Saturday of every month, Black Heron Promotions takes over the upstairs at OSA with a carefully curated line-up of original alternative and underground music.
Black Heron has become a regular fixture at OSA, bringing exceptional independent artists to Windsor from across the wider grassroots music scene.
Part of the appeal is the discovery. The Black Heron team puts real care into every line-up, and audiences have come to trust the quality of the artists they bring to OSA, whether they're already familiar with the bands or experiencing them for the first time.

About Black Heron
After around 20 years playing DIY shows himself, Phil started Black Heron Promotions as a way of putting something back into the music community that had given him so much.
That experience gives him a real understanding of what goes into being an independent musician. Behind every performance are countless hours spent writing, rehearsing and recording, alongside travelling to venues, organising shows and gradually building an audience.
Black Heron celebrates that commitment by creating thoughtfully put-together nights where original artists can find new listeners and audiences can experience brilliant live music in an intimate setting.
As Phil says:

Building a scene in Windsor
Great local music scenes grow through artists, audiences, promoters and venues supporting one another.
The Black Heron team's monthly residency brings bands from the wider independent circuit into Windsor while creating a regular home for original alternative music in the town.
That consistency matters. Audiences discover artists they might not otherwise have encountered, bands meet and play alongside one another, and Windsor becomes another meaningful stop on the grassroots touring circuit.
Some nights are heavier, some more experimental and some difficult to categorise, but there's always a common thread: original music, strong live performances and artists the Black Heron team believes deserve to be heard.
Black Heron + OSA
Black Heron and Other Space Arts share a belief in the importance of independent culture and the grassroots spaces that allow it to grow.
Small venues give artists somewhere to develop, experiment and connect with audiences up close. Promoters like the Black Heron team bring those artists together and introduce them to new audiences. And the people who turn up, listen, buy a ticket or have a drink are an important part of keeping that grassroots ecosystem going.
Together, we're building a regular home for alternative and independent music in Windsor, one Saturday at a time.
