In My Persistence Era — An Exhibition by Ola Intu

Artist Ola Intu returned to studio painting during lockdown after a two-year hiatus — and a great deal has unfolded since. In My Persistence Era presents a compelling retrospective of paintings, drawings and installations created over the past five years.

This body of work was born out of both empathy and resistance in response to the defining social and environmental challenges of 2020–2025: climate change, plastic pollution, the refugee crisis, resurfacing global conflicts, the rise of fascism, and increasing anti-migrant sentiment. These themes often fracture communities, weaponised to foster division; Intu’s work not only contemplates these events themselves but explores her emotional landscape in relation to them.

Through intention, action and artistic practice, Ola Intu invites visitors into a journey where creativity becomes a lifeline — a means to persist, process and maintain sanity in the chaos of late-stage capitalism.
